Concept Artist
Now this is a job to die for, if you can illustrate. Although these days increasingly you can get away with cheating using photoshop to ‘massage’ photos of the internet and there are hundreds of tutorials teaching you the ‘standard’ look of hollywood style concept art that makes producers and directors salivate. Concept artists get to spend there time dreaming up snapshots of scenes or sets in the movie, concentrating largely on light and mood rather than the persnickety details that plague those latter n the food chain whom have to work with the concept artists work. Close to the script and the director, as well as the Production Designer the artist can have a huge influence on the film… although the work can lead to utter frustration as your much loved work is rejected by the director, and you are made to draw things you don’t particulary like but will get blamed for! Seriously though, a dream job if you have a great imagination.
